Written and recorded in the fall of 2000, this song was loosely inspired by then-candidate George W. Bush's statement that he stopped drinking because he "heard a higher call." I originally imagined Frank Sinatra singing this song in a 40s style, but the vocals somehow came out sounding like a cross between him and Jim Morrison. --Benj
